LaPlaya Cancellation & Deposit Policy:

Cancellation less than 7 days prior to arrival will forfeit deposit equal to one night’s room and tax. 

FOR REGISTRATION FEES:  You may send a substitute in your place at any time. To request a refund (less a $100 service charge), notify Karen at CEMA (Karen@CEMAnet.org) of your cancellation in writing no later than noon on May 15. NO REFUNDS can be issued for cancellation after this date.

FOR HOTEL:  You must cancel hotel reservations by 4:00 pm seven (7) days prior to your arrival date to avoid a cancellation fee of one night’s room and tax.  See more LaPlaya policies at their own FAQs.

No.  You will receive links to minutes from prior meetings and to agendas for the June conference via email in advance.  

In addition, early every morning during the conference you will receive an email with the schedule for the day including links to the agendas for that day's meetings.  *If you would like your daily emails send to an address other than the one you used to register, you can send that alternate email address to Angela@cemanet.org.

For the day sessions, comfortable, casual dress is appropriate.  Sportswear is customary -- golf shirts and khakis or shorts for men; slacks, shorts or skirts/dresses for women.

Sunday night is a casual College Tee Night!  Whether it's your alma mater or your kids', or maybe just your favorite college team, represent by wearing a tee or jersey that lets everyone know.

For Tuesday evening's Awards dinner, the look is more professional but still relaxed.  A button-up and slacks are perfect attire for men, but a sport coat is welcome if that's more your style.  Pantsuits, slack and a blouse, or skirts / dresses are all perfect for women.

NOTE:  Both Sunday's and Tuesday's receptions are outdoors; plan for very warm (90-ish) weather at the reception and then an air-conditioned space for dinner.

Yes!  We have revamped this following research into major states' requirements, to aid you in getting credit for attending.

All attendees will receive personalized Certificates of Attendance for each Conference session they attend for submission to their certifying organizations as proof of continuing professional education.  Each certificate will include:

• the specific session attended (based on the sign-in sheets, so be sure to sign in at each session), and
• the duration of the session.

In addition, attendees will find links to their attendance certificates in the Info Hub, under the Continuing Education tab, so they can download them later if necessary.

Your registration fee includes the following meals:

• Welcome Reception and Buffet Dinner
• Breakfast on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday
• Lunch on Monday and Tuesday
• Tuesday Reception and Plated Dinner

There is an optional Happy Hour event Monday night at the Mercato, an entertainment district about 2 miles from the hotel.  You can join that for an additional $35, which includes a beer and lots of appetizers.  There's more information on the Optional Monday Happy Hour tab.

The quoted hotel rates are available 3 nights before and 3 nights after the Conference, subject to the hotel having availability.  Plan as far ahead as possible for the best options.

Yes—interested attendees are welcome to observe Working Sessions. Remember these are dedicated working meetings for subcommittees that meet in person only once a year, so time is focused on advancing ongoing projects rather than providing background or onboarding.  If you want to join a subcommittee, let Naylu know, and she will get you set up and up to speed.
